Meet our Physicians

Sanford Melmed, MD

Sanford Melmed, MDSanford Melmed, MD, is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He served his internship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.  He also completed Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine residency programs at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. 

Dr. Melmed is board-certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine. Special medical interests for Dr. Melmed include diabetes, hypertension and cholesterol management, preventive care and geriatrics.

As both an internal medicine and emergency medicine physician, Dr. Melmed can provide care for a broad range of healthcare needs.

Dr. Melmed is certified for diabetes and stroke by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality.The NCQA physician recognition programs for diabetes and stroke, developed in partnership with the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, help identify doctors who deliver excellent care to patients with diabetes or cardiac-related illnesses.

Kamilah Abrams, MD

Kamilah Abrams, MD, is a graduate of Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. She completed her residency at Grant Medical Center in Grant's Family Practice Residency Program. Dr. Abrams provides a broad range of healthcare for ages 12 and up with a special interest in women's health and adolescent medicine. She is a board-certified family medicine physician.

John Windzigl, PA

John Windzigl, PA is a graduate of Essex College in New Jersey, where he studied radiology, and a graduate of Kings College in Pennsylvania, where he studied to become a physician assistant (PA). As a PA, John obtains medical histories, performs examinations and procedures, orders treatments, diagnoses illnesses, prescribes medications, and orders and interprets diagnostic tests. John is board-certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants.
